Autumn Greetings - Use the print and cut feature on your Silhouette Cameo

Welcome to todays card post! I'm a bit slack getting this one up as i'm a bit rusty on this whole blogging side of things but better late than never!

We don't really celebrate the Autumn, or to America the 'Fall' season, here in Australia but I must say - the colours and tones that those beautiful leaves produce, falling outdoors into the wind brings much inspiration.

For todays design, I brush over the process of how the Silhouette Connect Plug in, installed into your Adobe Illustrator software, does not only create a very streamlined process but can allow you to use the Print and Cut feature - in this case i'm cutting all the Autumn/Fall leaves on the card (design courtesy freepik.com).

I created this layup in Illustrator using the vector EPS file downloaded from freepik.com.
I proceeded to create the pink cut line by off setting the vector path of each leaf shape - the fine pink stroke that you can see.

This is the Silhouette plug in, showing me how the cut lines will sent to my Cameo. An important part in making sure the right paper setting are chosen. Thats for another day! :)

I printed 1 set of the leaves each onto different coloured cardstock on my Brother toner printer.
Because i'm foiling the leaves, I need to print them with black toner which is compatible with the Heidi Swapp foil that I use. The registration marks were provided by the plug in within Illustrator. By printing registration marks, the Cameo will know where it has to cut around the images.

Not everything can be done in the plug in in the same way like it can in (if you are familiar) with the Silhouette Studio Designer or Business Edition, it just depends what you create yourself in Illustrator and how you want to cut it. There are some useful tools in Silhouette Studio that are actually much more efficient than doing in Illustrator and vise versa.

The sentiments were created and foiled in the same way, check out the video for a bit more details on this process.

The Heidi Swapp orange foil is amazing!

As always, it took took time for me to assemble the card but gotta be happy with the final outcome!
